All about Ogmore by Sea Hall 


Hall :

The main hall is 8m x 14m with two sets of double doors, one opening out on to the terrace which can be opened on request and the second opening to a paved area at the side of the hall. The sea-facing wrap around terrace is a stunning feature and is available to hall users. The main hall has underfloor heating, temperature control, dimmer lights and multiple power sockets. The main hall receives Wi-Fi (code provided on hire). Tables and chairs are available (3 rectangular tables 75cm x 180cm, 11 round tables 150cm diameter, 80 adult chairs, 3 round children's tables 110cm diameter and 21 children's chairs). At the end of the main corridor there are three unisex toilet cubicles as well as a disabled toilet, both with handwashing facilities and air dryers. There is a baby change facility available.


The building regulations maximum capacity for the hall is 133 for fire safety. 

With round tables the capacity is approximately;

  • 88 people seated (150cm diameter)  11 round tables of 6-8 people (please note that this doesn’t allow for a dance floor or bar).
  • 118 seated theatre style in rows without stage  (room for podium).
  • 96 people seated theatre style in rows with an 8m x 3m stage at the front.

Hall Kitchen:

Hire of the hall includes use of the hall kitchen facilities which includes an instant hot water tap, 6 ring hob, oven, double sink, hand washing station, dishwasher, two fridges, two tea and coffee urns as well as a double worktop. The kitchen is used at the hirers own risk and the hirer will be required to follow the closing checklist. A hardcopy will be available in the hall kitchen.

Food Premises Registration:

As the hall itself will not be providing or handling food that there is no requirement for it to be registered as a food business. However, any hirers renting our facilities on a regular basis where food handling is involved may be need to register with Environmental Health as a food business. Those hirers should contact Shared Regulatory Services ( to discuss whether registration for their business would be required. Individuals or businesses using the hall facilities as a one off would not be required to register with Environmental Health.


The hall is not licensed for alcohol. The Licensing Act 2003 allows individuals to carry out licensable activities (eg sale or supply of alcohol, regulated entertainment or late night refreshment) on a temporary basis. Hirers wishing to sell alcohol on the premises will need to apply to the council for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) at the following link Temporary Event Notice TEN ( The Hall Management Committee will require a copy prior to the event: please email a copy to 


There are 4 disabled parking spaces outside the hall (please display a blue badge to access this parking). Other than the disabled parking spaces the area immediately outside the hall entrance is to be used as a ‘drop off’ zone only and access must be kept free for deliveries and emergency vehicles. There are council run pay and display car parks (Ogmore beach and Brig Y Don) at either end of the village. There is a disabled access ramp from the main road which leads to the hall patio area from which the hall can be accessed through the double doors or the main entrance. 

Hire Rates:

The hall hire rate is £25 p/h for one off bookings and £20 p/h for regular ‘block bookings' (minimum 4 weeks).

Keys & Access:

For one off events the Hall Manager or a trustee will meet you at the hall 15 minutes before the start of your booking to grant you access and will return at the end of your booking to close up.
